What hotends are included in the H2C Combo?
4x 0.4 mm hardened steel induction hotends, of which 1 is pre-installed on the printer and 3 are included in the accessory box. The accessory box also includes 1x 0.2 mm induction hotend and 1x 0.6 mm induction hotend.Left hotends (Standard hotends): 2x 0.4 mm hardened steel standard hotends, of which 1 is pre-installed and 1 is included in the accessory box.
Currently, the firmware supports mixed flow-rate printing (standard flow + high flow), but does not yet support mixing different nozzle sizes during printing. If this feature is added in the future, we will provide information through a firmware update.
Can H2S and H2D be upgraded to H2C?
H2D and H2S users can upgrade their devices to H2C by purchasing a Vortek upgrade kit. However, due to the high level of technical skill required for the upgrade process and its lengthy duration, it is recommended that users who want to experience the Vortek system directly purchase an H2C. Purchasing an H2S or H2D first and then upgrading will incur additional costs.
The H2D Vortek upgrade kit is expected to arrive as early as January 2026. Since H2D does not require updating its native firmware before the upgrade, the upgrade can be performed immediately upon kit arrival.
Is H2C compatible with first-generation AMS or AMS lite?
First-generation AMS is confirmed to have full plug-and-use compatibility and can be used with H2C for multi-color printing, but it does not support AMS drying functionality. Due to fundamental differences in the feeding mechanism and buffer structure, H2C does not support AMS lite.
How many AMS 2 Pro and AMS HT printers does the H2C support at most? What is the maximum number of colors it supports for printing?
The H2C supports a maximum of 4 AMS 2 Pro and 8 AMS HT connected simultaneously, for a total of 12 AMS and 24 slots. Since the H2C is a dual hotend printer, and in the most extreme scenario where all AMS printers can be connected to the same hotend while the other hotend uses an external spool, it supports a maximum of 25 colors for printing.
