pH probes must remain moist at all times and should never be allowed to dry out. Each probe is shipped in a plastic soaker bottle filled with pH storage solution to keep it properly hydrated. To ensure accuracy and extend the life of the probe, keep it in the soaker bottle until it's ready to use, and return it to the bottle immediately after each use.
