What’s the difference between F2 and F1?
The F2 delivers major upgrades over the F1, including higher laser power (15W blue + 5W IR vs. 10W blue + 2W IR), a new built-in 50MP high-resolution camera with autofocus and precise visual alignment, faster engraving speeds up to 6000 mm/s (vs. 4000 mm/s), and advanced software capabilities such as curved-surface engraving, relief engraving, batch processing, and autofocus—all features not available on the F1.
Is xTool F2 compatible with F1 accessories?
Yes! Compatible with all F1 accessories—except the Rolling Hard Case. Your previous investment won’t go to waste—F2 integrates seamlessly into your existing xTool ecosystem.
What’s the working area and max workpiece height for F2?
- Standard area: 115 x 115 mm, ideal for most small items.
- Extended area (with Slide Extension): 115 x 400 mm, great for batch runs and long pieces.
- Max workpiece height: Up to 120 mm, slightly taller than F1 (about 113 mm).
Which metals can F2 process?
The 5W IR (1064 nm) laser is designed for metal marking/engraving with crisp detail and depth on most metals, including: stainless steel, aluminum, copper, brass, titanium alloys, plated metals, anodised aluminum, gold, silver, and platinum.
What software does F2 use? Does it support LightBurn?
F2 currently works exclusively with xTool Studio (formerly XCS). It does not support LightBurn at this time.
xTool Studio runs on Windows and macOS, and combines design, layout, parameter settings, and machine control in one beginner-friendly app.
