What materials can the inkjet module print on?
The inkjet module works best on fabric, wood, paper, and other similar porous surfaces. It cannot print directly on very dense or smooth surfaces such as metal, glass, or ceramic, because the ink cannot properly penetrate or adhere. Printing on these materials requires a suitable adhesion coating to be applied first.
How long does the CMYK ink last, and how do I replace it?
Ink yield depends on how often you use it. Based on the ISO/IEC 24712 standard (5% coverage), one cartridge can print about 400 pages.
To help extend its lifespan:
- Adjust the ink density based on the material type.
- Always close the cap after use.
Replacement: Cartridges are not refillable. Please use a new cartridge and follow the replacement instructions in the user manual.
Do I need a riser base to engrave cylindrical objects such as tumblers?
No. Thanks to the M2’s side laser projection, you can engrave objects from 0 to 100 mm thick, such as insulated tumblers, balls, or rings, without any riser base.
Is the air purifier required?
If you use the laser function regularly, an air purifier will greatly improve your experience. We recommend the SafetyPro™ AP2 Air Purifier: designed for indoor use, it filters the air effectively and helps reduce odours.
How can I avoid burn marks when cutting paper?
To disperse laser energy and help prevent edge yellowing:
- Use a metal honeycomb panel
- Or make a hollow wooden support to reduce contact between the paper and the working area.
These methods provide effective heat dissipation and help reduce charring marks.
Does the M2 require external air assist?
No. The M2 has a built-in air pump (air assist), delivering cut quality comparable to an external system. You can adjust the airflow strength based on your specific engraving or cutting needs.
I already own RA3. Can I use it with xTool M2?
Yes. To use RA3 with xTool M2, you will need the M2 Adapter Kit. The kit is not yet available for purchase and is expected to launch around the end of June. Please refer to the product page for the latest availability.
