The latest range of Flashforge Printers take printer management in a classroom or print farm to the next level! With the use of the newly released Orca-Flashforge Slicer and FlashMaker app you gain access to handy features such as wireless printing, remote monitoring and printer grouping.
Wireless Printing
Wireless printing was previously possible with FlashPrint, but Orca-Flashforge and FlashMaker have elevated it to an entirely new level.
With Orca-Flashforge, you can not only send a print wirelessly to a printer, but now also send the same sliced file to multiple 3D printers simultaneously. For example, if you need four copies of the same model printed in different colours, instead of slicing the model four times and sending it to each printer individually, you can now slice the model once and send it at the same time to four printers, each loaded with a different coloured filament.
Through the FlashMaker app, users can access their printer’s previously printed files via the 'printer history' tab. Here, you can view details such as how long the file took to print and how much filament was used. Additionally, by selecting a file, you have the option to reprint it directly from your phone without needing to re-slice the file.
Remote Monitoring
Remote monitoring has seen significant improvements, making it more user-friendly and accessible. Previously, with FlashPrint, you could only monitor your printer remotely if you were in the same location and connected to the same internet network.
In Orca-Flashforge, remote monitoring is much simpler. All you need to do is sign in to your FlashMaker account within Orca-Flashforge and ensure your computer or laptop is connected to the internet. This allows you to monitor your printer without needing to be in the same location or on the same network.
The FlashMaker app makes it even easier. Simply open the app, and from anywhere with an internet connection, you can access any printers linked to your FlashMaker account. By selecting a printer, you can view its camera feed, pause and resume prints, and adjust print settings.
Printer Grouping
Printer grouping allows users to organise printers into groups, exactly as the name suggests. You can group them by machine type or create custom groups for classroom or print farm settings.
Each printer has a section called 'printer position'. By assigning common values to your printers, they will be linked into a group. This is particularly useful for schools with multiple printers across different classrooms. For instance, you could assign the printers in one classroom with the position 'Class 1' and those in another classroom with the position 'Class 2'. This enables teachers and students to filter printers in Orca-Flashforge or FlashMaker, so they only see the printers in their specific classroom. Additionally, you can label each printer with a number or a value corresponding to its position on the shelf or table, making it easier to identify which printer you are accessing.
In conclusion, the latest Flashforge printers, combined with the Orca-Flashforge Slicer and FlashMaker app, offer a transformative experience for 3D printing management, whether in a classroom or a larger print farm. The advancements in wireless printing, allowing for simultaneous multi-printer usage, remote monitoring from anywhere with an internet connection, and the ability to group printers based on location or custom needs, make these tools highly versatile and user-friendly. These features not only streamline the printing process but also empower users to manage their printers more efficiently, enhancing productivity in educational and professional environments alike.
