Sphero have just released their latest model of the much loved Sphero Robot the Sphero BOLT+. Today we are going to going over everything new with the robot and take a look at the differences between it and its predecessor the Sphero BOLT.
New LCD Display
The first major difference you will notice between the two robots is that the 8x8 LED matrix has now been replaced with a 128x128 pixel LCD display. This new LCD screen now allows BOLT+ to display text, images, animations and sensor data directly on the robot itself.
Programming Blocks
With the addition of the new LCD display and other enhancements comes new programming blocks in the Sphero EDU App. These blocks include, Display Text, Images, Animations, Display Sensor Data, Roll to Distance, On Ambient Light Event Block, On Software Buttons Event Block and an On Distance Event Block allowing for more ways to program and explore with Sphero BOLT+.
Power Management
The BOLT+ and it's new and improved inductive charging base now have wireless QI charging and optimized power management allowing for all day batter life off a single charge. BOLT+ also features a new shake to wake feature and auto turn-off when not in use!
