When we received our new Flashforge Adventurer 4 3D Printer the first thing that immediately struck me was the size. It's much, much bigger than the Adventurer 3 in all directions. I was taken completely by surprise as I was expecting something about the same size as the Adventurer 3. The Adventurer 4 is huge in comparison. By volume, the Adventurer 4 is 2.3 times or 230% bigger than the Adventurer 3.
Adventurer 3 | Adventurer 4 | |
Shipping Box Size (cm) | 48 x 43 x 51 | 58 x 57 x 68 |
Printer Size (cm) | 39 x 34 x 41 | 50 x 47 x 54 |
As we unboxed the Adventurer 4 there were some obvious reasons for the substantial size difference namely a much larger printing platform and the upscaling of the spool holder capacity from 500g spools to 1kg spools.
Other notable differences are the flexible, magnetically attached print bed, which will make print removal much easier, high temp nozzle to enable printing of a greater variety of materials and the set up which we've highlighted in our Flashforge Adventurer 4 3D Printer - Unboxing & Quick Setup video.
We're working on a more detailed comparison video and blog which we'll post shortly.
Overall, my first impression is that the Flashforge Adventurer 4 is not a replacement for the Adventurer 3 but a step up for those that want a bigger and more capable 3D printer. The Flashforge Adventurer 3 still has a place as an excellent entry into 3D printing for those wanting a simple to use, affordable 3D printer.
